This is another project that came to us through a General Contractor we'd previously collaborated w/. The Homeowner was a real estate agent w/ a great eye for design. The concept was to carve modern elements into a sprawling Spanish-style house. The wood beams were engineered to allow for an open floor plan, but also representative of what was previously there. An open floor plan was more suitable for their contemporary lifestyle.
We displayed the structural retrofits, rather than conceal them. One of the bedrooms was converted to a Home Theater. The front door was enlarged + anodized aluminum windows were installed to match the black trim. This is a really simple way to make a Spanish home look more contemporary. Finally, the landscape was completely redone w/ a decomposed granite walk.
We love working with clients that appreciate great design + modern architecture. If that sounds like you, let’s talk.
